Top 5 Reasons to Hire A 360 Google Photographer

7 Ways to Include Photos in your Google Business Profile (GBP)

In late 2021, Google My Business (GMB) introduced new updates including a  new name in Google Business Profile (GBP). For most companies this basically just meant calling it different. They do have streamlined processes including easy-to-upload photos and videos right from the search results page. Just Google your business name and you’ll most likely see it.

Google Business Profile will be the new name going forward for Google My Business. Google  said  the reason for the new name is to “keep things simple” and sometime in 2022, Google will retire the Google My Business app completely.

Keeping it simple does make sense as it’s been called GMB, Google Places, and even plain Google Local in the last 15 years or so. These changes to GBP now put this all under one Google Search and Maps umbrella. This also makes it more manageable to upload images and photos to your GBP.

First and for GBP as a whole, I can’t think of a better how-to source than the new Whitespark  definitive guide to GBP promotion . It’s a compelling, interactive guide to help you with both local rankings and conversions.

We’ve always stayed clear to say that the virtual tours and photos directly mean higher rankings and listings for you. It makes sense that it helps indirectly, but following their  360 photo and video criteria  for the users can only help your actual conversions.

1 – Definitely use your own photos. Even with a standard smartphone, you may be surprised by how well they can turn out on the web with a little experience and editing software you already have on your phone. Our virtual tour strategies help determine the best 360 photos to create.

2 – Stay away from stock photos as they can be disingenuous. Users are smart and sexy and can see right through the most thinly veiled attempt at manipulation and the lack of originality that stock photos display.

Per Google’s  photo and video criteria :

Screenshots,  stock photos , GIFs, other manually created imagery or imagery taken by other parties should not be uploaded. To be relevant, photos or videos must be taken by users at the location in question

3 – Include entrances, address, street signs, and nearby landmarks to connect with areas that users identify. There’s a better chance of them making a physical beeline to you if you provide the knowledge of exactly how people come to visit you. Often, the most viewed photos are simply either ones of your location’s exterior along with a local street or sign, or the 360 photo entrance of your virtual tour.

4 – Use both custom and Google virtual tours . The Google tours are what users see when on Google Maps itself or see the Google tour embedded in a website . While you’re thinking of it, plan on how you’re going to stage your location for either virtual tours or photos for your GBP presence.

Custom tours are definitely superior and we recommend using this more when you embed the tour on your site, blog, or link to your social media channels. These tours include branding, your colors, logo, table of content, video options, and even ways to purchase your products or services right from the tour!

5 – Include call-to-action and Tiny Planet photos for social media and other content. We provide these with our tours and there are even apps out there that do a decent job converting your regular photos to planet ones.

6 – Use Google Posts and their image carousel. We wrote about Google Posts when it was in its infancy and has only grown from there. You can now have many rotating up at once from new offers, events, products, COVID updates, and what’s new.

7 – Add photos to your Google Local Services ads . This also has the carousel feature and is a great place to showcase your building, staff photos, and your land or cityscape. This is a free feature and it’s a great opportunity to place visuals.
